The Barrett Group Promotes J. Price Mason
Warwick, R.I. – September 5, 2008 – The Barrett Group, LLC has promoted J. Price Mason to the position of Executive Career Consultant, where he will continue to advise senior level professionals on the development and execution of job search campaigns and career change strategy, interview preparation and salary and benefits package negotiations. Mason also heads up the firm’s unique Direct Representation program, where he serves clients in the capacity of a reverse recruiter.
“This is really a de facto appointment,” said Waffles P. Natusch, president of The Barrett Group. “Price has been with us over a year serving as a proven and trusted career management specialist for our clients. We’ve been working with him unofficially for five years now. We thought it was time to make it official.”
Mason joined the firm in March 2007 with more than 15 years industry experience in management, training and career counseling. He is a Certified Federal Career Counselor by the Federal Career Training Institute and a member of the Rhode Island Career Counselors association. Prior to The Barrett Group, he served as an employment specialist with the cooperative education programs of the College of Business and School of Technology at Johnson & Wales University, a private, non-profit institution. In that position, Mason oversaw student career development and employer relations opportunities with businesses representing the insurance, financial services and banking, national defense, information technology and retail industries, many of which represented Fortune 1000 companies.
Prior to Johnson & Wales University, he was an executive recruiter and account executive with Management Recruiters International of Boston, a leading global executive recruitment organization, where he coached executive candidates on résumé development and interviewing techniques, and human resource managers on best hiring/job sourcing practices.
He resides in Providence, R.I. with his son, J. P. He is a 1991 graduate of Bard College with a degree in Fine Arts.
